November 29 to December 10, 2021

Christmas bells are ringing, or is it just us? It is, as they say, the season of joy, and by the look of things happening over the past two weeks, we are likely to agree. Let’s unpack some of what’s happened.

Technology

[Protocol and Infrastructure]

  • Implemented Geode Attestor and Geode Provider server functionalities;
  • Implemented RPC server inside Geode Execution Environment (GEE);
  • Implemented remote attestation and liveness challenge features in Attestor server and GEE, and successfully completed integration testing;
  • Integration with the new chain’s API/RPC/extrinsic calls;
  • Currently implementing Substrate Event Subscription for SGX SubstrateClient in Geode;
  • Supported Substrate Metadata V14 for SGX SubstrateClient in Geode, and changes to Event Subscription;
  • Implemented Geode logic for anonymous voting for the Democracy pallet;
  • Added Ed25519 tool to sign message and verify signature using Ed25519 keys;
  • Purchased reserve nodes to host Kubernetes clusters, also updated Kubernetes version for some clusters;
  • Completed the design documentation of GEE-related pallets;
  • Finished the development of game pallets, including unit tests and benchmarks

[Product and Tools]

  • Implemented and revamped frontend and UI of mev.tax;
  • Linked API to frontend and integration testing;
  • Upgrades on the visual structure of the Canary Games;
  • Currently implementing ChainBridge for Ethereum Virtual Machine and Substrate, with ongoing testing

Ecosystem

  • So proud to share this one: Automata has successfully completed our first milestone after being accepted into the Substrate Builders Program! It is no small feat, we’re celebrating, and keeping our eyes firmly on the next achievement.
  • Such a blast when we finally got around to sharing about the Polygon Track under the Automata Ecosystem Incentive Program — a thread if you’re all about Twitter.
  • Followed by the announcement of XATA being one of the first projects selected into the Polygon Track. The sense of pride watching a project incubated from our ecosystem make their first strides is quite something else.
  • We’ve partnered with Readl to support their NFT Fairdrop, and it’s exciting to explore the possibilities of Conveyor and our broader technology stack in the metaverse. Stay close with us because this is only our first foray.

Community

  • There’s no question that our developers are obsessed with all things blockchain, so is it really a surprise that we’ve come up with a brand new technical series to share and educate our community alongside our journey? The first of #AskAutomata is a guide on creating a custom RPC Subscription in Substrate.
  • Not to be missed — a plug for the XATA team with their fresh new Twitter account — first dips, zero alpha. We’re not sure if they’re joking about the alpha, though. PSA? They’re running an (ongoing) $ATA yield farming campaign with up to 460% APR.

The next time this issue drops, we’ll have our feet planted one side in 2021, and the other in 2022. Let’s bring it.
